Attic insulation is vital to your home’s comfort.

Attics are often the most insufficiently insulated part of a home. When your attic is not properly insulated and ventilated, you can lose conditioned air quickly, making your home more difficult – and more expensive – to keep comfortable during the winter as well as the summer. In addition to letting heat escape during the cold winter months, a poorly insulated attic is a major contributing factor in the formation of ice dams, icicles, and mold growth, which can be both a health and safety hazard for your family and your property.

The U.S. Department of Energy recommends homeowners have a certain depth of blown-in insulation in their attics. The amount recommended varies by climate zones. If your attic’s insulation depth is below the recommended level, contact our home insulation experts.

Benefits of Blown-In Attic Insulation

  • Keeps your home comfortable year round by limiting heat flow
  • Increased efficiency helps to lower your energy bills, saving you money
  • Proper attic insulation also reduces the formation of ice dams, icicles, and mold / mildew growth

The Attic Insulation Installation Process

So what can you expect? Review the steps below to see what you can expect from the installation experience.

Step 1

Before our insulation experts arrive, make sure you clear a pathway to the attic entrance.

Step 2

Once we access the attic, we examine the existing insulation type and depth to determine the best way to increase your home’s energy efficiency.

Step 3

If there are baffles missing or incorrectly installed, we’ll add them between every cavity that connects to the soffits. This will create a good ventilation system so the air can then pass over the insulation without disturbing it.

Step 4

Now that ventilation is established, we add our blown-in insulation until an optimal depth, or R-Value, is reached.

“They could have improved on cleaning the site before they left. They left a little bit behind, but it was not that big of a deal. It was cold and snowy and I couldn't believe they actually came and did the work that day. I was most satisfied with the finished product. My house is much more insulated now, and it's a sound barrier. The top reasons I chose to work with USA Insulation was that it looked like a good product and I chatted with a former co-worker who had hired them and he was happy with the job and I thought I could be too.”

Robert B., Danville, PA

“Outstanding work, and my house is a lot warmer. I was most satisfied with the teamwork of the team - they worked very well together. They left it better than they found it! I chose to work with USA Insulation due to their punctuality and responsiveness.”

Jeff M., Covington Township, PA

“I was most satisfied with USA Insulation because of the workers and the salesman. They were all excellent. The workers seemed to be all friends. They were on top of what they were doing the whole time. They didn't take big breaks and worked very hard to get the job done.”

James S., Factoryville, PA

“I chose them because of time in which it took them to get into the job. I would also say the customer service and the product knowledge. They were the only people that called me back, and the product vs the other products available on the market. I also liked the price.”

Adam D., Hawley, PA

“A very happy customer. They met all my expectations. Within 24 hours I was able to feel a noticeable difference in the comfort level of my home.”
