BLOWN-IN
ATTIC INSULATION

Attic insulation is vital to your home’s comfort.

Attics are often the most insufficiently insulated part of a home. When your attic is not properly insulated and ventilated, you can lose conditioned air quickly, making your home more difficult – and more expensive – to keep comfortable during the winter as well as the summer. In addition to letting heat escape during the cold winter months, a poorly insulated attic is a major contributing factor in the formation of ice dams, icicles, and mold growth, which can be both a health and safety hazard for your family and your property.

The U.S. Department of Energy recommends homeowners have a certain depth of blown-in insulation in their attics. The amount recommended varies by climate zones. If your attic’s insulation depth is below the recommended level, contact our home insulation experts.

Benefits of Blown-In Attic Insulation

  • Keeps your home comfortable year round by limiting heat flow
  • Increased efficiency helps to lower your energy bills, saving you money
  • Proper attic insulation also reduces the formation of ice dams, icicles, and mold / mildew growth

The Attic Insulation Installation Process

So what can you expect? Review the steps below to see what you can expect from the installation experience.

Step 1

Before our insulation experts arrive, make sure you clear a pathway to the attic entrance.

Step 2

Once we access the attic, we examine the existing insulation type and depth to determine the best way to increase your home’s energy efficiency.

Step 3

If there are baffles missing or incorrectly installed, we’ll add them between every cavity that connects to the soffits. This will create a good ventilation system so the air can then pass over the insulation without disturbing it.

Step 4

Now that ventilation is established, we add our blown-in insulation until an optimal depth, or R-Value, is reached.

“I have never seen a crew so organized. It was all orchestrated beautifully. I would recommend them to anybody. They treated our house like it was their house.”

“I just want to thank USA Insulation for another great job. The house I live in now is the second one that they have insulated for me. The first house was in Brookville, Ohio and it cut my propane bill in half. Where I live now in New Carlisle, Ohio I have fuel oil heat. This is the third winter in my house. The first winter cost me $2,000 in heating oil just to have some heat. That's when I decided to call USA Insulation again and had my whole house insulated. I know the winters have been fairly mild but last year I spent about $600 for the winter and this year I have spent $280 bucks. Thank you for doing such a great job on my first home that I came back and did my second home. Huge cost savings! Thank you again. I'm a very happy customer!”

Nick R., New Carlisle, OH

“I'd recommend USA Insulation to anybody.”

“We are satisfied with the work that was done. It was a project we had talked about for a long time. It was easier than we thought from first contact with USA Insulation to completion.”
